These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bilo mobile application (the "App"), operated by Bilo ("Bilo," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to use Bilo. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@biloscan.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
2. Description of service
Bilo lets you photograph receipts, automatically extract data from them (merchant, date, total, and applicable taxes), organize them into folders you name, and export them in various formats (Excel, PDF, email, or QuickBooks). Receipt data extraction uses automated AI processing and, like any automated system, may occasionally produce incomplete or inaccurate results.
3. Not tax or accounting advice
Bilo is an organizational tool, not a tax, legal, or accounting service. The tax categories Bilo assigns to your receipts (including references to T2125, T777, TP-59-V, and T2200) are provided to help you organize your records and do not constitute tax advice, and are not a guarantee that any expense is deductible or claimable. Eligibility to claim any expense depends on your individual circumstances, applicable tax law, and — for employees — a completed T2200 or TP-64.3-V form from your employer. You are solely responsible for reviewing extracted data for accuracy and for verifying, with a licensed accountant or tax professional, that your expense claims are correct before filing. Bilo and its operators are not liable for any tax assessment, penalty, interest, or reassessment arising from your use of the App.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Bilo offers a free-scan allowance and a paid Premium subscription for unlimited scans, folders, and exports. Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, using RevenueCat to track entitlements. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled according to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies — we don't process refunds directly.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the receipt images, folder names, and other content you upload to Bilo ("Your Content"). By using the App, you grant Bilo a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the App's functionality to you, including sending it to third-party service providers (such as Anthropic's Claude API) for data extraction as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any receipt or document you submit.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Bilo for any unlawful purpose, including submitting fraudulent or falsified receipts
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App or its underlying systems
- Upload content that infringes someone else's rights or contains malicious code
- Circumvent subscription limits or access controls
- Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the App outside its intended features
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Third-party integrations
Bilo integrates with third-party services, including sign-in via Google and Apple, subscription billing via the App Store and Google Play, and optional data forwarding to QuickBooks. Your use of these integrations is also subject to the respective third party's own terms and policies. We're not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or performance of third-party services.
8. Intellectual property
The Bilo App, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Bilo and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the App as intended, these Terms don't grant you any ownership rights in the App itself.
9. Termination
You may stop using Bilo and delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately; data handling after termination is governed by our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Bilo is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee that receipt data extraction will be error-free or that the App will be uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bilo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Québec or Canadian consumer protection law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Québec, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the App or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Bilo after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
